Stories Sell and Results Tell

September 28th, 2012

Stories sell, but before I get into a story, let me tell you a quick thing or two about me and how I use stories. As some of you may know, I’m a church man. I’m part of the LDS church and have held various callings within the church which have given me many teaching opportunities. Many of these “teaching opportunities” come unexpectedly, for example, when you show up to church and the instructor you had assigned to teach that day didn’t show up. So naturally, I have to step in and come up with something great to teach about.

So my number one use for stories is to take up some time, or fill the gaps. Life is full of experiences that can be related to just about anything, especially to my religion. Some of the best speakers in my church and in the world are the ones who can relate a story to their topic. It brings things to life, at least it does for me.

Are You Sick and Tired Enough?

September 23rd, 2012

Sick and Tired One of the reasons I joined the Network Marketing industry was because my wife asked me to. That’s the truth. But that was just one of the reasons. And to be completely honest with you, I had no intention on getting into Network Marketing before that point.

You might be thinking to yourself, “Join  the club!” Right?

My Mother had been part of almost every cosmetic or health drink business there was, yet, I didn’t grow up with the lifestyle most people get into this industry to live. Mainly because I think my Mom joined those opportunities simply because she loved the product and wanted to try it out. That, and she really has a strong desire to help others.

But like I said, she didn’t make any REAL money from her efforts.

My Commitment to Blog Six Days a Week Starts Today!

September 21st, 2012

For those of us who have been in the blog world for anything longer than a day, we know what it takes to receive the kind of traffic we all covet. However, why don’t we do it?

Starting today, Sept. 21st 2012, I am committing to post a new, unique blog post six days out of the week. I can’t always guarantee that you’ll always love my content, but hey, that’s what blogs are all about, right? It’s about sharing a little bit about you….your hopes, desires, pet peeves, goals and so forth.

What I realized early on in my blogging career is that people respond to people. They want to know that there is a real person on the other end of the content who they can relate to and communicate with.

What are Income Producing Activites?

September 7th, 2012

Income Producing ActivitiesIf you’re someone who has ever been involved with network marketing, you’ve probably heard someone on a training call tell you about “income producing activities.” And along with that, they gave you the understanding that if you didn’t focus primarily on doing those activities, over everything else, then your business would fail miserably.

Absolutely true! As entrepreneurs, we want to keep ourselves busily engaged in activities that will grow our business. In doing so, it’s imperative that we’re conscious of which activities are actually helping our business progress instead of restricting it.

Now you might be saying, “What in the heck are you talking about Dave? That makes no sense at all!” I would tell you that you might be right, BUT, I can explain myself a bit here. So bear with me.

Network Marketing – The 400 Meter Dash of Success and Failure

May 1st, 2012

I created this little infographic to describe the success cycle of the average home based business owner. I used a track as the backdrop for my analogy, “The 400 Meter Dash of Success and Failure.” In Network Marketing, this is as plain as it gets and the new person doesn’t understand how it works. Success in your business is just a matter of consistent effort over a period of time. If you desire to succeed is there, just finish the entire lap and things will get a lot easier.

Network Marketing – Most People Quit Before They Start

April 30th, 2012

Stuck at the Starting LineIn my experience in the network marketing industry, the number one cause of failure in marketers is because they quit. Quitting is really the only way to fail in network marketing. But the most ridiculous part about it all, is that most marketers quit before they even start! It’s true.

Let me give you an example…

I recently had someone sign up for my home business. She was as excited as anyone could possibly be and expressed to me that this business was exactly what she was looking for. She explained how tired she was of her current situation and got started with me that same day. Now, in my business, once someone gets started, they have access to an entire back office full of training that will help jump start their business. Well, this woman completed everything. She even purchased some leads. I thought she was well on track to making some money.

But let me ask you a question…..does signing up and completing training or even purchasing some leads really mean that someone truly gets started?
