Top 3 Ways How I Make Money?

December 22nd, 2008

Well here it is. I have decided to give you all an inside look at how I make money. Well, at least the top 3 things that produce the most income and one or two ways that will become more profitable for me in the future.

There are a ton of ways to make money working from home and regardless of when you start, who you are or what your results have been in the past, you can do it as well. It just takes action, one step in front of the other and a strong ambition or vision of what you want.

So here we go:

  1. My Home Based Business – The biggest money maker for me throughout the last 4 years has been the home based business opportunity I promote on this website. It has been the reason I created this site. Initially I make money when someone purchases a product with the potential to generate anywhere from $1,000 to $14,000 per customer. Residual and passive income are also mingled into the compensation that pays me add-on sales as I assist others in creating the same kind of success that I have. So it is a win-win situation. I make money only when others create success! It is a highly lucrative business and continues to be my main focus.
  2. Adsense -  For anyone who has done research into making money with Adsense then you know the potential of this one. You always see checks being cut by Google to Probloggers and marketers all around the world for multiple 5 figures and 6 figure checks for one months worth of clicks. If you think about it, Google is a multi-billion dollar cookie. There is plenty of money to be made with Adsense. I, however, have not hit the multiple 5-figure checks as of yet but my revenue is ever increasing with Adsense. As my blog grows, so will my traffic and every source of income will also increase.
  3. Text Link Ads – This is a service that allows other marketers to place an in-text link on your site for a certain price. How much money you make is dependent on the traffic to your site, your page rank and a few other factors. Not all sites are accepted but you can always apply. Some say that text link ads hurt your search engine rankings with Google while others say that Google can’t tell the difference. So this one is up to you.

So these are the top 3 ways that I generate income with the first being bar far the most lucrative of them all! I also earn commission from other affiliate programs such as Amazon and may list those is a future post as their income increases.

The cool thing about making money, is that there are a ton of ways to do it. The one factor that will determine your success, is what you give you attention and focus to. Right now, my focus is with my Home Based Business and teaching others how to create wealth the same way I have. If I spread my focus too thin between many different ways of generating income, they will all suffer and it won’t be a profitable.

So if you plan on having multiple streams of income, I recommend that you find things that work with each other. For instance, I created this site for my Home Based Business. I started this blog to teach others about my industry, educate them on Entrepreneuralism and assist them is creating success in their lives, so I put Adsense and text link ads in the mix. They all go together and they don’t take my focus away from number one! Make sense?

In what ways do you generate an income? If it is online, be sure fill in the space asking for your website.

The Success Highway

December 18th, 2008

success highwayHere’s a question for you to think about: Have you ever been in a hurry to get somewhere and it seems like all the slow drivers in the world just happen to be driving that day? I mean, these drivers don’t seem to be going slow just because you are going fast. I mean these guys are going like 15-10 mph under the speed limit. Does that ever happen to you? It happens to me all the time! Maybe that just means I should leave the house a few minutes earlier, but that’s beside the point!

The other day, we were in a hurry to go somewhere and there was a guy going 20 mph in a 35mph zone. We were also in a semi-residential area and so I was also in a no passing zone. Well, being a man, driving a Hummer, all that power under the hood, I saw a clearing and I went! I had an objective, a place to be, a purpose and it seemed as though this other driver was just lolly-gagging around, taking his sweet time, with no destination or sense of time whatsoever.

So I gunned it and as we were passing him, he turned and flipped the bird, was yelling at his own window and we could tell that he was obviously a little upset. He must not have liked the fact that we were passing him up and that we had somewhere to be. So we drove on and arrived at our destination just a few minutes early, just like we had planned! Had we continued to follow this other driver, we would probably have been late as the no-passing zone went on for a few more miles.

Success Highway

Lesson: This is a parable or a comparison to the journey of success. Here are a few points that I would like to bring out.

  1. Those without a destination, a goal, a vision or a passion will always get passed up by those who do!
  2. Those without a time frame connected to their goals, destinations, visions, or passions will take forever to get there, if they ever do! Never, ever, ever feel guilty for passing up someone standing still. There is no such thing. You are either moving forward or backward!
  3. Adversity is always there. Challenges will arise on your journey. No-passing zones, speed limits and slow drivers will always be there. True success is achieved in the midst of all adversity.
  4. Those with a premeditated destination and a plan of action to arrive there will take the necessary action to arrive there, regardless!
  5. The ones who are left in the dust, the quitters, the unsuccessful and the nay-sayers will always despise you for your success and your accomplishments. It is just something that is going to happen. Accept it, but don’t dwell on it. That is their problem. Help those who can help themselves has been my philosophy when it comes to starting a business!
  6. Put the pedal to the medal and go for it!!

So, fellow associates, welcome to the success highway! Gun it, put your pedal to the metal and reap the rewards!

A Mobile Home Based Business

December 12th, 2008

When speaking of a Home Based Business, the words “Home Based” are a little misleading. Sure, just having the privilege of working from home over having to go to a job in some other location is enough for most people. I mean, when you work from home you are only so many steps from your refrigerator, so many steps from your bathroom and at home with your family! You will never miss out on anything right?

Well what happens when you have a family event in the middle of the week? What if your family wants to go visit the grandparents for the weekend or maybe even the entire week? What then? You are “home based” right?

I guess it really depends on what kind of Home Based Business you are involved in. Let’s do some reviews of  home based businesses that are more “mobile” than others.

Ebay – Now I am not an Ebay power seller nor will I ever be. Ebay can definitely be a home based business but requires handling and shipping of products, unless of course you do some kind of wholesale distribution. You can set it up to have the manufacturers ship the products for you. All you do is take the orders and collect the profits. But for the most part, an ebay business is “home based.”

Day Care – I only have a few words for this one…..50 kids that are not your own! Definitely “home based!”

Avon, Arbonne, etc – I don’t know much about these businesses and don’t pretend to know, but my mother used to be involved in both of these and she spent most of her time having “make-up” parties at her home, hitting up family and friends, making local visits and hand delivering the product to her customers. So from my experience, “home based.”

MLM/Network Marketing – When you think of a Home Based Business, this is usually the category to search in. These are primarily marketing businesses connected to a wholesale company. Now most MLM companies that I have known require you to pre-purchase your product. Thus, you have a garage full of stuff. On the other hand, there are some MLM opportunities where the wholesale company ships the product direct to your customer. Most of your marketing is done on the internet or over the phone and can be done Internationally. So depending on the opportunity, “mobile!”

Direct Sales – Most direct sales home based businesses have a wholesale company that ships the product for you. You are never required to pre-purchase or warehouse any product. My pick is definitely with Direct Sales mainly because I get paid first. The customer pays me directly, I then pay the wholesale amount to the wholesale company, then they deal with the shipping and customer service. In direct sales, most of your marketing is done online, in newspapers, magazines, etc and can all be done with a phone and a laptop! Direct Sales in brilliant, much more lucrative and definitely “mobile!”

There you have it. Finding a Home Based Business that is mobile is fairly simple and will allow you to experience true freedom to come and go as you please. Take your business with you on vacation, a work trip, while attending a conference, attending family events or where ever it is you decide to go. It’s a beautiful thing when you can take your cash machine with you!

Considering a Franchise?

December 17th, 2007

Considering a FranchiseI had a conversation with a family member today on my wife’s side of the family about business ideas. He is currently in the plant business and has been for several years now. They are very good at what they do. They are also diamonds in Amway as well and have multiple streams of income, but yet, I get the feeling they still aren’t where they want to be financially. I enjoy our conversations and learn a little here and there. One thing I know, and is reaffirmed every time we speak is simple this business opportunity is and how little other opportunities compare.

Considering a Franchise

This family member was thinking of turning his current business into a franchise opportunity. He then went through some of the costs associated with moving forward with that. He noted that it would cost him $160,000 just to get it all set up. Then, you must market the franchise, hire employees, etc. When it is all said and done, you are into a whole lot more work and have forked out a pretty penny to get it all going.

Most Businesses won’t see their third year!

November 11th, 2007

I believe that over 80% of all businesses started in the US never make it past their 3rd year in business. Now, I have no idea why the failure rate is so high. I am sure it is many different reasons and factors that play into each failure. For one it may be that they were under capitolized, or maybe lack of advertising, maybe a bad location, or maybe just a bad product or service. Who knows.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone business succeeded? Wouldn’t it be comforting to know that if you decided to start a business today, that you would succeed and that everyone else that started a business would succeed? How prosperous would our world as we know it be? There would be no risk involved because your chances of succeeding are 100%! As nice as this may seem, it cannot happen and it must not happen.

It has to be this way. There has to be failure to offset success. To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Come on, we have all heard of this. To have joy, you must know and have experienced sadness. To feel good you have to have felt bad. Becoming an entrepreneur, succeeding at business and becoming successful is not an easy thing, otherwise, everyone would be doing it.

There is risk is starting a business. You could go out of business, you could lose your shirt, you could blow your life savings, or you could have no life and be married to your business. You could stay at your dead end job and have someone else run your life for you. On the other hand, you could strike it big, become wealthy, live your ultimate lifestyle, take charge and become the CEO of your life! Free enterprise is the only way to truly enjoy your life to the fullest. Leverage your time, increase your profits, and live your life. Risk is measured only by the way you view your own potential to accomplish the task at hand. Confidence is everything. You create your own risk by lack of confidence in yourself and in your business.

Here is a stat for you….90% of bussiness without a system fail. 90% of businesses with a system, succeed! I have succeeded in business due to the system that was already in place. I avoided a huge stumbling block by starting this business opportunity. Make it easier to succeed in business by starting a business that is already proven to work.

Business Opportunities Galore

November 10th, 2007

The world is full of all sorts of different business opportunities to choose from ranging from home businesses to franchises. One could seriously spend years looking for the perfect fit and may never find it. I speak with people who have been looking for decades and still have not found the perfect opportunity. Some have tried business opportunities only to find out that they were not what they were chalked up to be and still, continue their search for the one business opportunity that works.

You know, I feel a little lucky, for a lack of better words. This is the first home business my wife and I have ever started. I know people who have tried Amway, Herbalife, Quickstar, Arbonne, Avon, Primerica, Prepaid Legal, etc, etc….and still have not seen success. We have bee very successful with this business and honestly, didn’t expect anything other than just that. There was no real skepticism involved when making the decision to get started. Yeah, we were a little nervous, but skepticism was not present at all. Skepticism is really only lack in belief in ones own abilities. That’s it.

We started this home business for many reasons. First, we saw the pure income potential with low investment. With a fraction of what a Franchise would cost, you could be fully invested in this business and make a potential of ten times more working only part-time. We really had no clue as to what Personal development was all about but since have immersed ourselves in the industry and absolutely love it. I am such an inspired person now. I see my future and it is looking brighter and brighter every day I am apart of this great business.
