You have to wonder at times why the majority of the public thinks the way they do. This summer I took my family and my business down to Hawaii for two weeks, and yes, we had a blast! Thanks for asking. I can tell you about all the things we did while there in a different post. Well, we happened to be down in Kona for the day and before heading back to the resort, which was nearly 25 – 30 minutes away, we decided to stock up on a few necessities.

A buddy of mine wanted to find some more board shorts so while browsing through the clothes section, we ran across some t-shirts in Walmart. As I read the messages on these shirts, I realized that I absolutely had to take a picture of them. Now forgive me, my phone camera was obviously fogged up a bit when I took these. But I think you will get the point.

So it amazes me how people think. Negativity sells and it sells well! We all know why. Think about it. Is it more difficult to tick somebody off or to make them happy? Depending on the person, it’s generally easier to tick them off. That’s why negativity sells better. It’s just falling into the majority.

Now try on these shirts on for size: “Optimism can take you anywhere.” “Spreading smiles since 1994.” “Life is Good!” These t-shirts are awesome. I own several of them.

Now allow me to get a little scientific on you. A while back I attended a conference where I learned about how the environment effects water. Now that I think about it, I was also in Hawaii at the time. The presenter gave scientific proof that negative words, negative music or negativity in general had a negative effect on water crystals. So this guy would carry around a bottle of water with nothing but positive words written all over it. Now here’s why: He believed that if negativity was effecting the water as much as it was, then how would that effect him by drinking the water. Being that our bodies are made up mostly of water, it would effect us in the same way. So this guy wouldn’t drink anything unless it came from a bottle covered in his positive words. So, if it is scientifically proven that negativity has that much of an effect on water, what kind of an effect do you think negative t-shirts have on our bodies. We know the effect they have on our minds but most of us have probably never really thought that negativity could have a physical effect. Remind me sometime to tell you a little more about “Intelligences” that exist in almost everything. It may be beyond the realm of understanding for most people, but is as simple as the concept of what a cell is.

Just food for thought!

So, wear uplifting clothing. Don’t feed the beast of negativity by buying their crap! Literally.

Tomorrow morning Amy and I are heading out to Los Angeles California for an event call the Super Charged Sunday! This is a one day event packed full of 10 hours of training on how to take your current income to the next level. Now, that next level for me is six figures in a week! Today I received a phone call from a friend telling me that my kids school was in Lock Down. There had been reports of a man wearing a trench coat, carrying a gun, walking around the school grounds. Needless to say, I dropped what I was doing and headed to the school. I live about two blocks away and was there in no time.

My intent was to check my two girls out of school and bring them home. So I pulled into the parking lot, got out of my car and started walking towards the front doors of the school. About half way there I was approached by a police officer decked out in his tactical gear asking me what I was doing. I told him that I had heard about the guy with the gun and wanted to check my kids out of school. He informed me that they were not letting anyone in or out of the school until they could verify that the area was secure. My immediate reaction was to get angry and throw a fit. They were my kids and I wanted to check them out of school right then. Instead of putting on a scene, I knew that there were about 20 to 30 police officers surrounding the school, my kids were safe.

I simply asked, “Well how long will it take for you to verify that the area is secure?” He told me that it would take about 30 minutes to an hour. So I said, “Okay! I’ll be back in 30 minutes!”

I went home, just furious at the possibility that this could happen here, at my childrens school. If you are a parent you can imagine the thoughts that would be going through your head if this had happened to you. 30 minutes later I showed up at the school, I asked the same police officer if everything was secure and within a few minutes they made the decision to allow students to leave.

The principle was almost in tears. I was the first and only parent there to pick up my children. The second person there was a reporter from the local newspaper. The office wasn’t even getting flooded with phone calls yet. I checked my kids out of school and they are home with me now. That is the safest place for them to be, right here with me!

I can tell you this much, I am glad that I have chosen to work from home. Whether it’s a school play, swim lessons in the summer or a potential disaster at school, I am always there!

I am a stay at home Dad, and I am glad I am! Don’t ever get so caught up in your own life that you forget what is most important in the lives of those you love. It’s you!

So here we are, living the lifestyle of a home based business Entrepreneur. Well, I shouldn’t generalize like that. I am living the life of someone who is part of MY home based business. We are here on the Big Island of Hawaii. We arrived at the Kona airport yesterday the 16th of July, had a driver pick us up (very helpful when you bring your entire family) and are staying until the 27th of July. Nearly two weeks of paradise.

Ok, so you think the Big Island of Hawaii is the cool thing right? Well, you’re right. It is pretty cool. Most people will never be able to do this. I am so blessed. The other cool thing is the fact that I am here with thousands of other like-minded, home business entrepreneurs. Many of them are self-made millionaires. I am surrounded with people like me. These are people that have goals, take action and live a life that less than 3% of people will ever live. That is who I choose to be.

Tomorrow we are planning a trip around the north end of the Island for some site seeing. We’ll hit a few waterfalls and have some awesome photos to show you.

Today I was able to teach my 7 year old daughter how to snorkel. She had a blast and is a complete natural at it. It’s one thing being able to do these things yourself. It’s a completely different thing being able to show your kids how to do it while they are young. I am able, through my business, to give them opportunities that I never had! Awesome.

I would like to wish everyone here in the United States of America a happy fourth of July! Go out this weekend and be proud of this Great Country. Enjoy the fireworks, the bombs bursting in air, and the festivities but remember why we celebrate this day. We celebrate our independence as a Nation. We celebrate our freedom. Take pride in being an American and represent this country well in all that you do. Become a better person, a better friend, better at business and a better servant. We represent a powerful force in the world. Let’s not take advantage of others, misuse our freedom or put ourselves on a pedestal. With great power comes great responsibility.

Tomorrow this country will be celebrating the Independence Day of the Unites States of America. The day we won our freedom. It’s awesome to be part of it all!

Every year, on March 30th, I celebrate MY Independence Day! It is the day that Amy and I decided to win our freedom. We became Entrepreneurs on that day and celebrate it as the day we broke free from bondage and misery. We fired our boss and went to work for ourselves. We made a bold decision to step through the gateway to independence. We chose to open the door to freedom. Financial Freedom! Time Freedom! We chose to live life on our terms instead of taking orders from someone else.
