To Live Greatly

June 20th, 2010 | 7 Comments |

What is the key to living a great life, full of accomplishment and joy, where everyday is a new adventure? Here’s a hint: By seeking after things that are praiseworthy, virtuous and of good report.

Living a life of true fulfillment is the only way to live, yet there are too many people in the world that confuse true fulfillment and accomplishment with giving into temptation. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” But I would like to add, you must be the change of good you wish to see in the world. Too many people are evolving into beings that are more carnal and primitive instead of what their true potential is. Their heritage, our heritage, is something much, much greater. Where we come from, where we began, should influence who we become. And I am not referring to our physical beginning.

“To live greatly, we must develop the capacity to face trouble with courage, disappointment with cheerfulness, and triumph with humility. You ask, “How might we achieve these goals?” I answer, “By gaining a true perspective of who we really are!” We are sons and daughters of a living God, in whose image we have been created.” ~Thomas S. Monson

This is just a quick post to honor and remember the Father of us all, who created us, and with every fiber of His being, wants us to become like Him……fulfilling the capacity and purpose of our creation……with GREATNESS!

Happy Fathers Day Everyone!

I totally believe you. I am associated with NGO and we also do teach the same thing. If you are living a life then there should be some motto and aim. Also, Motto and Aim should be much more than small things like to earn money and fame. To earn happiness could be the best motto to ever have in your life.

The Soul gets lost sometimes in the big picture of earning money these days. Just a sign of the times i guess. But people who do break out of it manage to experience true peace and happiness. Thanks for sharing

To live greatly is to have good and stable job. Also the key to achieve this one is to be motivated to reach its goal. Competition in today’s time is so close, one has to be efficient and knowledgeable enough to be qualified.

I agree…people miss out so many things in life…especially family life with the only aim of making money…..

I sure hope that all you wish for in life is not just a “stable job.” Set your goals a little higher. Shoot for the stars, because if you fall short, you’ll still get the moon.

    Telemarketing,

It seems you’ve come to adopt the same mentality that most people have these days. A stable job is not the key living greatly, as David pointed out. You might have a rock solid job with good pay and not be anywhere near as happy as an unemployed person or similar. It’s all relative.

People are blinded by money, success and power and often times they still want more of it. Even though they achieve all these greatness in their lives, without God there still nothing.
