It’s no longer 9 to 5!

March 18th, 2009

This morning I was obligated to take a drive with my one year old daughter. We took this drive at 5 AM in attempts to get this little girl to sleep. I had been up with her since 3 AM and enough was enough. The good news, it worked! The bad news, I only got 2 hours of sleep last night. I’ll live!

As I was driving around, I saw cars idling in their driveways warming up for the trip to work, people coming out of their homes and apartments in their work uniforms, contractors pulling up to job sites and it was barely 5 in the morning. Now, I live in a small town where the commuting time isn’t huge, so I know that these people would most likely be starting work at 6 in the morning.  As the time went on and 6 Am started rolling in, the streets were full of people heading to work.

It seems as though the so called “9 to 5″ job is no longer only 9 to 5. In fact, I don’t think it has ever been 9 to 5. It is more like a 6 to 6! If you think about your time spent getting ready for the job and traveling to and from the job, it should all be counted. It is time spent for someone other than you and yours. That is time spent that you are not getting paid for. Take into account how much time, if added up over a few years or even a lifetime, that you are wasting in preparation for your job. Let’s say on average it takes 30 minutes to get ready, 60 minutes to commute to and from, and 30 minutes to get, so called, “unready.” That is 2 hours a day. Over a one year period, you have spent an average of 10 hours a week, 40 to 50 hours a month and around 520 hours a year preparing to get paid for your time instead of getting paid for your time.

What if you invested that time into a business opportunity of your own? I can tell you that I know people who have, like myself, made more in a 10 hour work week than most people make in an entire year! It’s all about getting paid for your results instead of your time. There is only so much time, but results are unlimited.

The Most Dangerous Jobs

March 13th, 2009

So I have often wondered what the most dangerous jobs would be. I would think that working on a nuclear bomb would be there, hazardous waste treatment, the military, test pilot,  Grand Canyon telephone repair man. They are all right up there…..but I had no idea that working in a cubicle would be just as dangerous. Think about it! What happens to a free animal when caged up? They flip out right?

You have to check out this video! I cracked up the first time I watched this. Go ahead, stay in your current job. Just know, you might become the next victim of Job Dementia and absolutely lose it!!

Want to Leave Corporate America?

February 12th, 2009

corpheadAre you feeling pretty secure and confident about where you are in your financial life? I’m speaking to those of you who are still in Corporate America. Are you living the life of your dreams. Do you love your job and does it allow you the time freedom to spend with your family? Can you go to bed each night with a feeling of fulfillment?

I found a definition of what Corporate America should be:

Corporate America is an informal phrase describing the world of corporations within the United States not under government ownership.

Its negative connotations imply financial or ideological self-interest, greed, resistance to entitlements and the irresponsible promotion of counter-socialist self-interest at the expense of government and competitors.

Its positive connotations imply a liberal and productive capitalist free-market society that creates wealth, directly and indirectly lifts the people’s standard of living, rewards individual ability, and provides a ladder to financial success.”

Now you know what Corporate America is. America definitely needs these corporations. They do create financial success for themselves and their shareholders most of the time, but do they need you, as an employee? Do you need them for your, as wikipedia states, “wealth….(and) financial success?” I guess the question would be: Have you experienced that wealth and financial success as of yet? If you have, what things in your life have you had to sacrifice for that wealth and financial success?

Judging from the people I know that have left the rat race for this home based business, their great income, corporate car, and all the perks came at a great expense. Most hardly ever saw their kids and had a pathetic family life. They lived for their job while their loved ones sat on the sidelines waiting for some quality time.

I know it’s hard to see the bigger picture sometimes when all you know is where you’re at. It’s hard to realize you are in the middle of a miserable life when you haven’t tasted anything other than that. But I’m here to tell you….Wake Up! Open your eyes to what else is out there. You, right now, are only making a portion of your true income potential and are sacrificing too much of your valuable time for it.

Quit being the puppet that’s making someone else rich while having to sacrifice your life to do it. If you are in a job right now, it’s not all about you, it’s about them. Start thinking about you! Your family deserves it!

The Same Old W-2′s

January 28th, 2009

w-21Ahhhh, tax time! Have you received your W-2′s yet? What does it say in box 1? “Wages, tips, other compensation” right? What is the number figure in that box? 40k, 50k, 60k? Are you proud of that number? When you look at that W-2 does it make you feel good about yourself and the last YEAR of work? Are you proud of what you do and do you feel that your family is getting all they deserve out of that number in box 1? Now here’s the best question of all: Are you ready to do that all over again this year for that same number or just barely more? Are you ready to give another year to your employer?

If you anwered “Yes” to those last two questions then this website is not for you. If you answered “No” to any or all of the questions above then you deserve to stick around. This site will teach you of a way to make sure that this year the last year you will ever receive a W-2 form from your employer, because you won’t have one! Once you fill out the form at the bottom of this post, I will teach you how to take that pathetic number in box 1 of your W-2 and add another zero on the end of it. I will teach you how to make that number in box 1 a monthly income. I will teach you how to get out of the rat race and to fire your boss because frankly, you won’t be able to afford to work there any longer. I will teach you how to create a life of freedom, both time freedom and financial freedom through a simple business opportunity.

Don’t just think about it, do it! If not now, when? I don’t want to see you in the same place next year, staring down at your same old W-2 with that same number in box 1. Financial Freedom, Time Freedom, true Wealth, and ultimate happiness are all being held back by just a few things: Your fear of change and the false security of that pathetic W-2! Make a bold decision for you and fill out the form for an interview!

10 Painful Situations Avoided by Being an Entrepreneur

December 17th, 2008

I had fun thinking of all the things that drove me nuts with having a job. It has been over 4 years since I was in a J.O.B and Just Over Broke. I was recently visiting my brother and we were having a conversation about him coming and visiting for New Years. He mentioned to me that his employer requires him to work for an entire year before he will be allowed to take a day off! So with all that said, I am going to rate that as the top situation avoided by being an Entrepreneur!

  1. Your Employer or Boss requiring you to work an entire year before taking one day off! You teach people how to treat you and then allow them to do so. If you allow this to happen, you are more wacko than I thought. Yes, I just called my brother a Wacko!
  2. “So…why is it that you feel you deserve a raise?” This line drove me nuts even though I only had the privilege of hearing it once a year at most. Basically, you are being asked how much you feel you are worth! My answer: “More than you can afford!” Anything less than that would be settling, tucking your tail between your legs, and taking it up the ‘you know what!’ Always trying to prove my worth was annoying.
  3. “Ummm…We’re thinking about laying you off!” Ouch! My Brother-in-law got this line just the other day. They actually offered him a voluntary lay-off instead, basically meaning, 6 weeks of pay and 6 months of benefits. Pathetic severance package huh!?
  4. “I want you here 5 minutes early every day, so that you can be ready to work at 8!” You know what I had to say to my boss, “As long as I am clocked in before 8 am, I am ON TIME!” Did that tick him off? Yes! Did he do anything about it? No!
  5. Ummm….I feel that my employees are not dressing professionally enough. Can you dress nicer?” My Mother-in-law got this one last week. The sad thing, it’s not directed towards her. It was for her co-worker who comes to work in an accounting office in a skirt, mountain boots, and flannel jacket! I wish I had a twitpic for you all to see that image!
  6. Getting told when to go to lunch everyday. This wouldn’t be so bad if lunch time was at the same time every day, but instead, you get a 15 minute notice!
  7. “Thanks for all you have done this year but, due to the economy, you won’t be getting a Christmas bonus this year! Instead, I am giving you all a ham!” This actually happened to me, but what he was really saying is, “My wife wants a BMW for Christmas so I took it out on you!”
  8. Getting hurt on the job, bleeding from a gash in your head, while your boss shops around trying to find the best deal on getting it fixed! I can understand always finding the best deal but come one! You have an employee bleeding to death while you try to save $50.00!
  9. The entire application process! What attributes or qualities do you have that would make you a good employee? “Uh, because I am a team player, I work well with others, and am a go-getter!” That was my most used answer. Say that and you are guaranteed to get hired everytime!
  10. Working your butt off for an entire year to get your face put up on the wall with the quotes, “Employee of the Year!” On top of that, working an entire year to get a pat on the back or a little recognition from your supervisor or boss, guys, it’s not worth it!

The truth of the matter is, I can’t stand to work with others if they are morons, I am only a good team player if I am playing on the team I choose and I am a go-getter for me and those I care for, not for a boss. I just want the bi-weekly check!

I think I could come up with at least 10 more on my own. What situations, phrases, or things have you been able to avoid or want to avoid by your choice to become an Entrepreneur?
