How to Husk a Coconut

November 4th, 2009

I know that this is kind of an off the wall post, but honestly, how many of you have actually husked a coconut? I mean literally picked one up off the jungle floor and with some short of a stationary sharp object, husked a coconut? Now all of you who live in places where coconuts grow, you can’t answer these questions. That’s just cheating. That’s like asking me if I have ever blown up a cactus with a shotgun or “accidentally” hit a Jack Rabbit on the highway(I apologize in advance for my destructive nature at times…I’m a guy). This was my first one and I was pretty excited about it, obviously.

So the setting is on the Big Island of Hawaii this past summer. We were on the Hilo side of the Island and were there in Hawaii for about two weeks. Danny Hawman, a good friend of mine and partner in business, was the camera man. Enjoy the lifestyle, do things you have never done before, otherwise, what’s the point?

The Path of Least Resistance

July 22nd, 2009

As you all know I am currently here on the Big Island of Hawaii with my family. We are here for two reasons: Lifestyle and Learning. We are attending a conference along with over a thousand people from all over the world who have also come here for Lifestyle and Learning. We have been here since last Thursday and have been having an awesome time! It puts new wind in my sails to sit here and watch my children experience Hawaii for the first time. The light in their eyes and the excitement in their step fuels me and gives me a new passion for life. Life is good!

The Path of Least Resistance

Throughout the conference I have heard a common phrase. The last two presenters, Shawn Achor and Erik Wahl, have both mentioned this phrase. I have always known this but it has taken on a whole new meaning to me within the last few days. The phrase is “The Path of Least Resistance.” Basically put, human nature. We, as human beings, are naturally programmed to take the path of least resistance. We will take the easy road. If we come to a fork in the road and one has a mountain to climb and the other has just a hill, we’ll take the hill. It’s in our nature. We’re not stupid right!?

Well, this can be a damaging trait. Allow me to attempt to assist you in seeing this point through my perspective, or through my eyes. In life, what is the easiest path for you, getting a job or starting a business? Coloring a page with figures already drawn out for you or creating your own figures to color? Building a tree house using a manual or drafting and building your own design?

The answers are obvious right? The easiest path is the one that has already been laid out for you. Most likely, the life that most of you are living right now is a life that you have been pre-programmed to live, a life that has been, in a sense, mapped out for you. You went to college because that’s what everyone did. You got that job because that’s what most people do. You took the path of least resistance. It’s easy to follow something that you have been taught since childhood.

The difficult yet more rewarding path is the path of the entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship isn’t something that is taught to us as children unless it comes directly from our parents. It definitely isn’t taught in schools until you get to college, but even then, learning about business economics can’t teach you how to think like an entrepreneur.

To truly become an entrepreneur one must, more than often, head down the path of most resistance. As they do, they grow faster, learn faster, get stronger, gain more experience and are the ones leading the pack. They are the Rhino instead of the cow.

I can tell you this much, and all of you should already know this…..success evades those who always take the path of least resistance.

So if you find yourself doing what seems easiest, think twice about that decision. Sure, common decisions such as climbing hills over mountains are a no brainer, unless you’re goal is to get into shape. But if you are someone looking to create a wealth of success in your life, make sure your decisions are moving you closer to your goal. At times, that requires you to go against your natural programming, and if you plan on being an entrepreneur for long, get used to it!!

The Big Island of Hawaii….Again!

July 17th, 2009

Snorkeling on the Big IslandSo here we are, living the lifestyle of a home based business Entrepreneur. Well, I shouldn’t generalize like that. I am living the life of someone who is part of MY home based business. We are here on the Big Island of Hawaii. We arrived at the Kona airport yesterday the 16th of July, had a driver pick us up (very helpful when you bring your entire family) and are staying until the 27th of July. Nearly two weeks of paradise.

Ok, so you think the Big Island of Hawaii is the cool thing right? Well, you’re right. It is pretty cool. Most people will never be able to do this. I am so blessed. The other cool thing is the fact that I am here with thousands of other like-minded, home business entrepreneurs. Many of them are self-made millionaires. I am surrounded with people like me. These are people that have goals, take action and live a life that less than 3% of people will ever live. That is who I choose to be.

Tomorrow we are planning a trip around the north end of the Island for some site seeing. We’ll hit a few waterfalls and have some awesome photos to show you.

Today I was able to teach my 7 year old daughter how to snorkel. She had a blast and is a complete natural at it. It’s one thing being able to do these things yourself. It’s a completely different thing being able to show your kids how to do it while they are young. I am able, through my business, to give them opportunities that I never had! Awesome.

Aloha!

10 things I would not have accomplished without this business!

December 20th, 2007

I am just a normal guy who found an extraordinary opportunity which has assisted me in living a lifestyle that most will never get to experience. I owe it all to this opportunity. I have made a list of 101 things that I would like to and will experience before I leave this world and here are just a few that I have knocked out so far.

1. I have made over $50,000 US in a 30 day period. $42,000 of that was in a 3 day period. I have made more in a 3 day period than I ever did in an entire year working my last job.

2. We bought a Hummer in 2006!

3. We spent a week in the summer of 2007 in Sydney Australia and attended an opera in the Opera Sydney house!

4. My wife and I went cliff diving in Hawaii in October 2006.

7. We spent a week on Lake Powell on the border of Utah and Arizona in the late summer of 2007. We took my in-laws and it turned out to be a blast. We had a few waverunners, a couple of fishing poles, and a lot of time! We visited Rainbow Bridge, the largest natural rock bridge is the US.

8. We built a 4500 square foot home in the mountains of Arizona. We moved from our old home which was 2000 sq ft and turned it into a vacation rental. We started construction in the summer of 2006 and finished in February of 2007.

9. We bought some toys to play around with, as a family. This Ranger was an anniversary gift from me to my wife in 2006.

10. We did all this in just over two years. Who knows what else is in store for our future. All I know, is that anyone can do this business. Money, Lifestyle, Increased learning and personal development, whatever it is you seek, this business can provide it.

ALOHA

October 10th, 2006

Aloha from Hawaii*Aloha*

Talk about Amazing.  Another first for me.  I’ve always wanted to visit Hawaii since I was a young girl.  Believe it or not, it was on my “TO DO” list.  I love authentic Hawaiian music, the ocean, warm tropical breezes, mid-night walks on the beach, relaxed atmospheres, and of course, friendly people.  Hawaii has all of these characteristics and more.

I really love living this life.  We have tons of fun, travel to exotic islands, make money, in turn–spend money, and we have the privilege of assisting others in doing the same.  Not only that, we get to hang out with other BIG money makers, converse with individuals who share common goals and aspirations.  Individuals who are like-minded.

One of my life goals was to always stay active and continue taking risks.  Why?  It allows me to feel free,  invigorated, excited, thrilled, adventurous, and ALIVE!  Truly Alive.  Some of the activities we participated in were para-sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, cliff jumping, swimming, hiking, boating, site seeing, authentic cuisine(an adventure all its own), sun rises, sun sets, dolphins, shopping, mingling, dancing, singing, pondering, and of course, my favorite, sleeping on Heavenly Beds.  What a trip, and the beauty of the whole thing was I enjoyed this trip with the love of my life.  Completely open to new experiences and opportunities, vulnerable really.  As if our two spirits connecting with one another all over again for the first time.

WOW, how much do I love my husband.  We’ve been together for 8 years, and it may not seem long to others, for some it’s forever or even too long.  However for me, I feel like the movie “50 first Dates” with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler; also shot on the Big Island and a favorite of mine, I feel like we fall in love with each other over and over again with each new day, and with each new sun rise.  I can’t explain the love I have in my heart for him.  Especially after starting Summit Point Enterprises, I have a seen a new man.  A man full of love, gratitude, appreciation, anticipation, compassion, ambition, integrity, and self-worth.  I was so in love when we met, then I truly loved him when we were married, and now I am enamored by him.

There is a song by Kenny Logins called, “For the First Time.”  This song is definitely a favorite of mine as well.  In it are the words, “For the first time….I am looking in your eyes, for the first time, I am seeing who you are. I can’t believe how much I see when your looking back at me, Now I understand why love is for the first time.”  He is my love, my life, my soul, my mate, my friend and so much more.  I really do love him with all my heart.  Every time we experience a vacation together, I feel that we get to connect at this level all over again.

What a life of magnificence do we choose to live!  We jump from planes together, we kayak together (not always in perfect harmony) but together, jump from cliffs together, snorkel holding hands, lay in a hammock at Buddah Point together while we cuddle and listen to the waves crash, we journal together while watching the sun rise.  I truly couldn’t be happier with what we have together, and that is truly the key….we choose to be together, to experience life together, to be in love together, and to just BE together.  And we are.

How many happy couples choose this for themselves?  How many couples could choose this for themselves?  So here I am with so much to talk about and share, but I go to this.  Being “In Love” and able to experience that daily with the one I love.  So for tonight, I will leave it at this. I’m in love with my husband, my little family, and my life.  It’s ALL good!!  Real Good!

We are all in some state of hypnosis!

October 6th, 2006

Kevin Grise - State of HypnosisI had the privilege of watching a gentleman by the name of Kevin Grise who is a professional and world renowned stage hypnotist.  His show was hilarious. He had several volunteers up on the stage and put them through a period of hypnosis. The volunteers went from being in the hot desert to very cold temperatures, from being race car driver to running from James Bond. It was not only entertaining but hilarious to watch as these people’s thoughts and actions were directed through hypnosis. He had guys running through the crowd thinking that they were Fred Flinstone yelling at the top of their lungs for Wilma. Another guy thought he was Mc Jagger while the guy opposite him was Elvis. I could hardly breathe I was laughing so hard at these people.

We took a short break after his session and on return, he agreed to share some of the techniques that he uses to hypnotize people.

Hypnotism is thought of to be some kind of voodoo or magic when it is nothing of that nature. Hypnotism is simply autosuggestion. Leading the mind or the imagination to a different place. Guided meditation in a way. There are many different levels of hypnosis in which we all operate. Most of us operate on the Beta Alpha levels and the real hypnosis happens in the Delta.
