The Drip Technique

November 25th, 2008

The Drip TechniqueAllow me to share with you a little technique that has brought success to myself and many who I have had an opportunity to mentor. It is called the “Drip Technique!” Now when I say drip, do you understand what I mean? I mean, slowly drip your message, product, or service to your target audience. If you think about it, water can and has worked itself through massive rocks and formations just by a simple drip. The Grand Canyon wasn’t formed in a weekend! It took a consistent and persistent flow of water to develop one of the greatest natural attractions known in the World today.

Just as the Colorado River formed the Great Grand Canyon, you can create a massive income in your business that can be immediate and residual at the same time by using this technique.

Some of your potential customers will respond immediately while with others it may take a while with more exposure to what you have to offer. For some, the timing might not be right now, but when they get your email, or newsletter down the road, the timing could be perfect.

The Drip Technique

Here are a few ways that you can drip your audience:

  1. Newsletters
  2. Auto-responder emails
  3. Letters or Postcards
  4. Follow-up Phone Calls
  5. RSS Feeds from your Blog
  6. Brochures
  7. Voice-mail marketing

I would have to name numbers 1 and 2 the most effective ways to drip someone the pieces of your bigger puzzle. The idea is to give them a taste. Every newsletter or email sent should contain a little piece of information which will entice them to want more and by the time they receive a few, they will be ready to buy, sign up, or commit. But there must be three key ingredients:

  1. Consistency
  2. Proper Frequency – Don’t overdue it!
  3. Value in each drip!

In other words, be consistent, drip your audience once every week at the most, and offer a link, a free resource, or helpful information in every drip that will entice them to want the next one! Ensure your success by utilizing all the tools that are available to you as an Entrepreneur!

Also, knowing that I have a brilliant audience, what have you found to be effective in using this method in your marketing efforts?

Most of America is $200 Dollars From Being Broke.

November 24th, 2008

Home Based BusinessIsn’t it a sad thing that most of America is $200 from being flat out broke? During the last few months I have heard all this talk about the price of gas. Here in Pinetop gas is running only $1.90/gallon. That is the lowest it has been in over a year and it only costs me around $40 to fill up my Tahoe. Not a bad deal and I am not complaining at all. I appreciate saving a buck here and there like just the next guy and it’s better than when it was costing around $80 to full up my tank when the price of gas was up and around $4.00/gallon.

I would say that I fill up about once a week, depending on whether or not I leave town that week. So to be safe, 5 times a week. My gas bill would then be around $200 a month. Of course when the gas was higher, I was spending and extra $200 a month. It was amazing to me to see people terrified to leave their homes because the price of gas was too high! People were having to do some serious budgeting and were looking to other areas in their finances to cut back so that they could take a weekend drive to visit family!

HOW SAD! So I say again, most of America is $200 or less from being broke and they don’t even know it. $200 is not a lot of money but to alot of people, it obviously is. Most people seem to be living paycheck to paycheck and will never have enough to do anything extra, so they remain stuck in their dead-end job hoping to get their break in life. Something that is even more sad is the fact that an employee will wait around an entire year of working their job, missing their family, struggling financially, just to get a 2% raise….and then do it all over again the next year. For most people, that is an extra $20 – $40 a week! WOW!

Instead of waiting around for an employer to determine your worth, which is only $40 more than it was last year, make it happen for yourself. What if it were possible to earn and extra $1,000 a week or even and extra $5,000 a week? Would you have the courage to step out of your comfort zone? Would you take the risk or would you stay with what is comfortable until you are either retired or let go?

Most Entrepreneurs, Millionaires, Successful Business owners have been called crazy at least once in their lives. I will admit that most members of my family thought I was crazy for starting a Home Based Business. I have been called “crazy” to my face several times and I think I am actuallyl beginning to enjoy it! We are called crazy for our ambition for a better life, for success, for big ideas. Sure, some may feel the easy path is to just get a job. For me, getting a job is the hard path. It is the boring path and most of the time, will lead you to being $200 from broke!

Decide here and now who you would like to be. Are you going to be the one with big ideas, a passion for life, a mountain of ambition, and a burning desire for success? Or, are you going to be the one who settled? The choice is really simple to make, but the destinations are completely different!

7 Keys to Creating Success In A Home Based Business!

November 17th, 2008

Can you really work from home and be as successful as you’d like to be? Are there any Home Based Businesses out there that can produce results? Are the promises and the advertisements stating the dream lifestyle and amazing income fluff or are there success stories? I guess the real questions is: Can the average person have the same results?

Now before I answer that question, let me dish out some statistics. It is fact that 80% of all businesses fail before their 3rd year in business, most millionaires have gone bankrupt or failed in different business ventures several times before experiencing success, the average income in most MLM structured home based businesses is less than $5k a year.

So can average people have all out massive success in a home based business? No! Average people can’t have much success in anything and I will tell you why, but first let me share with you the unwritten meaning of success. It means to excel, reach goals, stand out, accomplish dreams, create a fortune, experience results and all in all reach your desired outcome. How then, if you are average, meaning like everyone else, can you ever have more success than those who are also average. You must be different. You can’t be average and excel in a home based business or in any business for that matter. You must first learn to stop thinking like an average thinker, and to start thinking like a bug thinker, or an Entrepreneur.

The reason I say this is because there are thousands of people starting a Home Based Business everyday! Every single day! Now what is going to separate you from them? What are you going to do differently that will ensure your success? Here it is:

  1. Direct Sales! Don’t waste your time or money on an MLM.
  2. Find a Home Based Business with a system to follow and follow it to the “T”. System = success.
  3. Find a mentor who is having success and get started with them.
  4. Do what your mentor tells you to do and call them frequently.
  5. Treat your home based business like a business, not a hobby. If you ever want to succeed then you must take more pride in your business than you do your job. Doing the bare minimum will not cut it!
  6. You must be creative. No one will do it for you. Think of new ideas, “be your business” and do something original.
  7. Play full out!! I cannot emphasize this enough. Mediocre and average effort will bring mediocre and average results. Play full out for all out massive success.

So many people just don’t realize that they can actually make more money, have more time, and spend more time with their family by starting a home based business. Average thinking people who have failed have clogged forums with negativity have distorted the true potential of a Home Based Business. While they have been doing so, so many people have been building fortunes and living dreams.

Direct Sales is one of the most lucrative industries in the world. People are literally making their prior annual salary in one single month. Why? Because they are not average. They are Entrepreneur…and there is a huge difference.

Philosophies of the Ant – Know Your Objective

October 25th, 2008

What does it truly mean to know your objective and do just that? First off, you must clearly define your objective, or your goals. This means you must know what it is, where it will come from, when you are going to accomplish it, and the steps that will lead you to that end.

Let’s use the ant as an example. An ants objective is to gather food for the entire colony. That is objective number one. Objective number two is to protect the colony. There isn’t much lolly gagging around. To an ant, getting food is primary until threatened. Then protection is primary. It is about survival.

Let’s relate this to running a successful business or becoming an entrepreneur. Your first objective is to gather food, or income, or raise. Nothing else should step in the way of that. Make it a priority. Set apart your “income producing” time. Get that time done before moving on to anything else. In Network Marketing or a Home Based Business, it is very easy to be distracted by other things. While working from home, there are kids to play with, wife or husband to help out, things to clean or build, babies crying and activities that do not add to the “income producing” ones. Do not let these get in the way. Set your priorities and tackle them in order of importance.

Get clear on your objective. Operate as you are already there and as though it is happening. This comes about through visualizing your goals. Once already at the end goal or the final destination, it is easier to see the steps you must take to arrive there. You can begin to work backwards and figure things out that might not be otherwise anticipated.

And always, always, always be a master of one. In other words, don’t be a jack of all trades and a master of none. When you start a business, project, or job, finish that one first or make that one the most successful first before you attempt to look elsewhere. I have known people who have started three Home Based Businesses all at once! Guess which ones failed? All of them failed! There is power behind concentrated and channeled focus. When directed to one objective, success happens!

So let us be more and think more like the ant. Even though it is pure instinct and the nature of the ant, I have no doubt that the ant is thinking “food, food, food, food” the entire time it is looking for it. It definitely isn’t thinking about the sexy queen ant it met the other day. It is extremely focused on the objective, and thus, extremely successful!

This is the second of the 10 Philosophies of the Ant.

10 Philosophies of the Ant!

September 23rd, 2008

I attribute my knowledge of this philosophy to the one and only Jim Rohn. I am sure this analogy has been around for some time now. What a visionary he truly is and what an entrepreneur. I guess it makes complete sense that in order to effectively teach people to become entrepreneur minded, you must know what you are teaching about. True knowledge comes from doing and doing creates results. What better way is there to gain a perfect knowledge than experience?

So on behalf of Entrepreneurialism, I bring you the 10 philosophies of the ant. What better way to understand, than by analogy. Some of my most respected mentors and role models have always taught by story. The relation between philosophy and real life stories embed principle and trigger memory to recall those principles because they are tied to those stories. So that sometime down the road of life, one might be going through a similar situation and remember the principle. How valuable is that?

So here are the 10 philosophies of the Ant:

    1. Hard work always pays off.
    2. Know your objective, or the task at hand and do just that.
    3. Never quit. If an obstacle arises, find a way around, over, under or just go through it.
    4. Take shelter in a storm and dodge the bullies with magnifying glasses.
    5. Selfless service. When you assist others in getting what they want, you will get what you want!
    6. Remain loyal and honest. True depth in any business comes from respect and a good name.
    7. Prepare for Winter while it is Summer.
    8. Think of Summer while it is Winter.
    9. Strength comes in numbers.
    10. Never say Die!

The list could probably be longer but 10 will suffice for now. I will expound on each of these philosophies in the next 10 articles and will relate each to a principle vital to the success of any entrepreneur. Now that I think of it, luck could be number 11, but I think luck has such a small part in success. Either you want it, or you don’t! That is my philosophy.

The 3 Hour Work Day!

June 18th, 2008

How many hours does the average employee work? Any guesses? Believe it or not, but it is just over 8 hours a day! That is at least according to the US consensus. Now, the people that I know are working 8-12 hour days on salary. We know that employers don’t like paying overtime, so hourly paid employees work less than those on salary. I experienced that when I was on salary as an employee.

When in there do you have time to go to the park with your kids, or watch their school play or athletic events? Will you ever get to see you children walk for the first time or say “Dadda?” When is there any time for improvement? When do you find time to relax, have fun, and enjoy the things that mean the most to you? Some might say they do all those things on the weekend. Ok, good for you. So you get two days, out of seven to have fun, spend time with your family, travel, improve yourself, attend events, and live your life. If you are currently doing this, you are settling! I will say it straight out. You are settling for what someone else has given you. They say I get five or more days a week and you get one or two, with a two week vacation, and you say DEAL!

I would personally tuck my tail in between my legs and say, “Ok, boss, I will be your slave!” That is really what you are saying!

There is much more to life than working. I believe in hard work, don’t get me wrong, but for myself and those I care about. Not for a boss. Let me introduce you to a 3 hour work day. That is what I do. I work 3 hours a day, Monday through Thursday. So what am I doing all day? Not working to make money. I make plenty of that. I am working on myself, my fun, my hobbies, my family, my religion, and it is my choice.

If you think like an entrepreneur, there are businesses out there with leverage that allow you to work completely part time, and to become literally WEALTHY! It’s just that you don’t know about them. Well, if there is anything I can tell you in this article, it would be, “Start Looking!” Your life depends on it!
