A big change. That change is usually due to the fact that we’ve become bored or unsatisfied with our career choice. You might be tired of the dead end job, ready for a fresh new job. Or, you might be ready to make the jump from employee to employer with your own business. Heck, I’ve even known people who are tired of the stress of being their own boss and would rather plug themselves back in to the Matrix and let someone else make the decisions. Working 9 to 5, going home not having to think about work until the next day is extremely appealing to some people.

So, you’ve determined that you’re ready for a change….now what? What’s the next step? You may be an expert in your current field but when it comes to the change you’re wanting to make, expert is not the word you’d use to describe your abilities.

The great thing about wanting to change but not knowing how, is that there are people who can help you.

Family

Family can be one of your best resources for knowledge when making big decisions. Most of the time, they’re going to give it to you straight and unbiased. You’ll want to steer clear of those family members who are always looking to get something out of the deal. Most likely, you already know who, in your family, falls into this category.

Friends

Your closest friends can sometimes be a better source of help than your family can. However, don’t mistake the difference between an acquaintance and an actual friend. Just because you know them, or speak to them occasionally, doesn’t mean they’re your friend.

Life Coaches

If you’ve exhausted all other resources and still feel like you’re stuck, hire a life coach with the experience and knowledge you need in order to get to the next step. If you’re looking to become a copywriter, an example of a life coach would be Michael Masterson, who offers training courses for those looking to either improve their abilities or change career paths in to the exciting field of copywriting.

There are experts like this in nearly every career path in existence who are willing to coach you.

In conclusion, I learned a valuable lesson several years ago that has remained with me to this day. The key to success isn’t dependent on your mentor. Whether you fail or succeed is all on you…..but a great mentor sure does help.

Dream Bigger – You’re Probably Thinking Way Too Small https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/dream-bigger-youre-probably-thinking-way-small/ Fri, 23 Aug 2013 20:37:48 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=5838 $40 Million Mansion in HawaiiAs I was surfing the web today, looking for new advertising opportunities for my business, I stumbled across something that gave me a big slap in the face. It helped me realize that I haven’t been thinking big enough!

Dream Bigger – Get Rid of that Small Thinking

It’s funny how sometimes we can get so fixated on one thing that we put on the blinders that keep us from seeing the bigger things right next to us. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing I guess. It just means that we’re being super focused. But what if that one thing that we’re focused on is keeping us from getting something much, much larger?

It’s like taking a chicken leg from the chicken because all you’ve been thinking about eating for the past week was chicken legs, when we all know that there’s a heck of a lot more meat on the rest of the chicken.

Anyway, to get to what inspired me…..I stumbled across a slideshow of a $40 million mansion in Hawaii, and it made my jaw drop. It expanded my vision for myself and helped me realize that I have been trapping myself with my small thinking.

I think it’s a healthy practice, to dream big, more often than not. So, in your busy schedules today, whether you’re on the job or working from home, like myself, take time to watch, look at, visit or read something that expands your vision of all that’s possible.

This mansion did that for me today. The image you see doesn’t even include the golf green or the Olympic swimming pool and diving platform. If you click on the image, it will enlarge for a little better view.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/running-around-like-a-chicken-with-its-head-cut-off/ Wed, 10 Oct 2012 00:05:52 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=4607 Running around like a chicken with its head cut offHave you ever felt like you’re running around like a chicken with its head cut off, where you felt like you had zero to little direction financially?

When I first joined the network marketing arena, the direct sales company I started off with was solid. And when I say solid, I was confident that the next ten years of my life were going to be spent working with that company. Things were going so well that I figured nothing could possible derail it.

It’s often said, that the only way to destroy something of that caliber, is to destroy it within. And that’s exactly what happened. It crumbled from the top down.

Since then, I have been jumping from one opportunity to the next, attempting to find a place that I could call home. Nothing seemed to fit the bill though. Even though these other opportunities brought in some income, they weren’t quite what I was looking for.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off

Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever felt like you were wandering around, wondering what your financial future had in store, waiting for some inspiration and direction?

Or have you been stuck in a job, thinking that you’re going to be stuck there forever, making the same income, remaining stuck in a struggle?

Or you may be the one with an attention disorder, not being able to concentrate on one thing for long enough to make it successful. Maybe you just don’t have enough time in your busy schedule to do what you really want, or live how you really want.

I guess what I mean is, have you ever felt like your body was doing the actions but your head wasn’t involved, in any way, shape or form? Things were happening all around you but you had no say in the “how” or the “what?”

The Solution

To get rid of the feeling like you’re running around like a chicken with its head cut off, all you have to do is make a decision. Make a purpose driven, hardcore, risky yet lofty, big ol’ fat decision.

Once you do this, your head will return to its rightful place and you’ll feel like you’re the one in control again. Things will start to fall into place and you’ll gain more clarity. I promise you this.

A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder. No matter how hard you try, without a goal, or purpose, you’re lost at sea. And as a man, unless we feel like we’re fulfilling out duty to provide the way we want to provide, then we feel lessened. At least I do.

I was one of those that were “lost at sea” for a few years, until I ran into a business that collided and meshed with my goals. Sure, income and success always adds a bit more to the clarity bit, but there’s nothing like knowing what you’re going to do for the next one, two or even ten years.

If things really don’t seem to be going your way, then you just haven’t completely taken a full grasp of the reins. The time is now. There’s no better time than today to take control and see what you’re made out of. Don’t wait until tomorrow, because tomorrow can turn into a very long time.

Make a Wish https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/make-a-wish/ Thu, 10 Mar 2011 17:54:32 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=3025 It’s been a tradition in our family for as long as I can remember, that when you see the first star of the night, you make a wish. This wish is to be kept secret and is not to be shared with everyone, otherwise, you wouldn’t get the wish.

The same thing happens on birthdays. You know how this works! You bake a cake, put some candles on the top, light the candles and tell your child to make a “what?” You tell them to make a wish and blow out the candles!

People make a wish as they blow the seed flurries from a dandelion.

Some people make wishes every time they see a falling star. My wife taught me one that I encourage every man to take advantage of…..with every tunnel you pass through, give your wife a kiss, and of course , make a wish.

There are a ton of examples out there and everyone has their own special “Make a Wish” traditions. These traditions are passed from generation to generation as if they were of some unknown or astronomical value. Heirlooms worth thousands and thousands of dollars get sold off before “Make a Wish” traditions are dropped or forgotten.

So what’s the big deal? Why do we teach our children and grand children these things? Why is it so important?

It’s simple…..We are teaching our children to NEVER… STOP… DREAMING!

Every one of us were born into this world, curious, inquisitive and ingrained with the natural ability to dream and create. We, as adults, play a very small roll in keeping these types of traditions alive. Once you teach a child how to dream and wish, with every opportunity to do so, they will make that wish. They will continue to dream. Children keep the dreams in all of us alive and well. You can’t look at a child without wondering what they will create in their lifetime, who they will be and what they will become.

I’ve seen situations in which parents destroy this very important attribute in children with their negativity and lack of compassion. Instead of encouragement, they give disappointment and despair. To look into a child’s eyes after they have been informed that their dreams will never come true is one of the most heart breaking occurrences. I wouldn’t wish that upon any child or their parents. Yet I’ve seen it happen. It’s sad and pathetic.

That’s what happens when a tattered, broken soul meets a naive, dreaming soul. So many people can make that transition. One bad experience or one failure can cause someone to stop dreaming…to stop making those wishes. In being a creature of habit, instead of keeping the habit of dreaming alive, they adopt the habit of disappointment and attempt to ingrain that habit into every person they come into contact with…and that includes children.

If our children stop dreaming, what kind of a future could we possibly build? What kind of a future could we build if we stop dreaming?

I encourage you to not only keep these traditions alive and well in your families, and also in your life. Whenever you see a falling star, blow out your birthday candles, blow the seeds from a dandelion, see the first star of the night or pass through a tunnel, make a wish. Start your dreams right there, and then follow through with the necessary actions to bring them to reality. A wish is just a wish without action. It’s better to have dreamed and failed to accomplish that dream than to have never dreamed at all.

Never stop dreaming!

Be!!! https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/be/ https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/be/#comments Fri, 29 Oct 2010 06:42:33 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=2977 Jogging FeetWhat do you do when the only time you have to exercise is at five in the morning and your body just doesn’t want to get out of bed? Or what do you do when the daily grind seems to be taking you one direction when your goals are supposed to take you another?

Is it possible to hit the pause button, and while the movie is on pause, change it to a completely different movie? Can such a drastic change happen for regular ole Janes and Joes? Can you wake up Clark, and like in the movies, still turn into Superman at will?

Can you just start living the life you want and become who you want? Just like that?

Well, I don’t know if you can or not. That’s something that is between you and yourself. Do you actually listen to that little voice inside that is telling you all you are capable of, or do you just roll with the punches and take what life brings your way?

For me, the way I do it, is with a simple phrase I learned long ago called “Be, Do, Have.”

For those of you who know what that means, I sure hope you’re living it. BE the person you want to be, DO the things that person would do and then you will HAVE the things that person has. The part that most people struggle with is always the beginning….the BE.

So at five in the morning, when the alarm clock goes off, do I reset it for seven, or can I BE the person I want to be. Honestly, that’s the secret for me. That’s exactly how I do it. It’s just a word, I know…but I repeat the word in my head when I hear that little voice inside. That voice just gets louder and louder, repeating the be, Be, BEEEEE….until I start to DO. At that point, with some consistency in Being and Doing, I will Have the health and strength I want for myself.

So it’s a good idea to scream it if you have to. Do what it takes. Be, Be, BE!
