Autoresponders: A simple guide to email marketing and converting your list https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/autoresponders-a-simple-guide-to-email-marketing/ https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/autoresponders-a-simple-guide-to-email-marketing/#respond Thu, 10 Jan 2013 21:46:10 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=5216 autoresponders and email marketingFor those of you who are new to the online marketing world, you’ll hear time and time again, “the money is in the list.” Which is absolutely true. Many dollars are to be made through email marketing. However, there’s a trick to sending autoresponders to your list which not only captivate those who actually open the email, but also calls them to action.

Autoresponders: A Simple Guide to Email Marketing and Converting your List

The first thing you need to realize about your list, is that your list is sacred ground. I’ve seen others promote almost anything to their list, things which they haven’t even looked into personally. Instead of treating their list like a gold mine, protecting it from the rest of the world, they treat it like a dump, throwing trash at it as fast as they possibly could hoping to get something of value back.

Your lists value is only a great as the value you give it, the methods you used to build it and the message you send to it.

First: For example, I’ve had a list for several years. It’s not the biggest list in the world, but it’s growing. I’ve probably had this list for around four or five years now. Some of my first, original subscribers are still receiving my emails, and opening them. My mindset is that of a protector over this list of emails. These are people, not just email inboxes, that I’m communicating with.

Remember that. The moment you start treating your list like a bunch of inboxes instead of like people, your list will lose it’s value.

Second: When capturing these email addresses, make sure you’re not doing it in a deceiving manner. I’ve actually been on the receiving end of someone else’s deceiving marketing efforts. Instead of capturing the email addresses of those who are actually interested in starting a home based business, they sold me a list of email addresses from people who wanted to win a free iPad or toaster.

A smaller list of highly qualified leads is always more profitable than a larger list with unqualified leads.

Third: Back to the comparison of the gold mine and the dump, the message you send to your list is just as equal in importance as capturing your leads.

Be Consistent in Your Message: If you aren’t consistent in the message you are communicating to your list, you’ll have more people unsubscribe. They’ll unsubscribe because they are confused. Are you with business A or business B. They’re not quite sure where to start. Be consistent in your message and you’ll not only convert more of your list into sales, you’ll also have less people unsubscribing.

The Autoresponder Rate: The rate at which you send your autoresponders or email broadcasts can also determine how successful you are in marketing to your list. If you haven’t emailed your list in months, they may not be too receptive when you do start emailing them. People will start to wonder where you got their information and will consider you as a spammer. So once you start building your list, stay in contact with them. Email them as often as you feel inclined to email them. Put yourself in their shoes, if you were looking for a legitimate business, how often would you like to receive emails.

Some will tell you to email them every single day, and that works. Personally, I email them every other day most of the time, sometimes every day. If I have something exciting to share, I’m sharing it.

Converting Your List Into Sales: Every list, not matter how small, if maintained properly using the methods above, has gold in it. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve had my list for several years. One of those years I neglected that list and didn’t communicate to them at all. I was waiting for an opportunity of value that I could offer them, and I found one. I started communicating with my list again and have had $1600 days since then.

Did they all convert on the very first email I sent out? Absolutely not! In fact, some of them have been on my list for several years and have been reading my emails for that entire time. Then something clicked. They became interested in what I was doing, because it had value, and my words had that thing called “passion” behind them.

For many of them, it took one or two emails to take action. For others, it took ten or twenty.

If you’re consistent at communicating with your list through autoresponders AND broadcasts, you’ll convert some into sales and find gold.

Were all the email broadcasts I sent out my own words, no! I simply customized, copied and pasted some of the broadcasts I was receiving from my enroller. But I can tell you this, if you don’t add your own personal touch to your broadcasts and autoresponders, if there’s no personality in there, they won’t convert very well.

Tell your story occasionally, show who you really are and people will relate, get started, and follow you.

Include a Call To Action: Someone once told me to have three calls to action within every email, or every sales presentation. So in every single broadcast or autoresponder you send out, be sure to include some sort of call to action, multiple times. Whether it’s inviting them to a presentation, telling them to sign up or simply to check out your blog, call them to action.

For those of you who are curious, I use AWeber for building my list. They’ve got all the right tools and can integrate perfectly with the business I’m in.

In fact, those who get started with me get my email autoresponders automatically added to their AWeber account. It sure helps when trying to get things off the ground.

A little validation goes a long way https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/a-little-validation-goes-a-long-way/ Mon, 22 Oct 2012 03:11:53 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=4729 Validation goes a long wayToday I’d like to share with you a simple tactic that will not only help you in building a larger team, but will also help your individual team members know that they’re not alone. It’s not really a tactic, it’s just something all of us should do, and many of you probably already do this on your training calls and webinars. It’s simply validation.

Validation means to make valid, substantiate or confirm. So when I talk about validation, it’s simply confirming someone’s decision to get started with you in your business and recognizing them for something they can be proud of.

Why a little validation goes a long way?

Simply validating, or recognizing someone on your team can make a huge difference in their business. For some, recognition can turn into a small fire of fuel behind their future success. It does something to a person to be noticed for the actions they’re taking. It helps them to confirm to their own self that their choices up to this point have been validated by someone who they consider to be an authority figure. And whether you believe it or not, if you’ve ever signed up anyone, even if it’s just one person, into your opportunity, then you are their direct authority figure.

So recognition from you on a public platform can mean the world of difference to someone who may be struggling with validating their recent decision to get started with you.

Why is that? Why does recognition help move people forward?

If you think about it, it’s simple really. Let’s say, for example, you’re on a team training call. During this call, you start talking about the international aspect of your opportunity and mention a person who has recently signed up who is from a different country. You give them a short welcome, sort of like a “shout out,” and continue on with your call.

I can tell you this, when someone who just got started, or who is struggling in their business, gets a little recognition or validation for their efforts, especially when they least expect it, they’ll start to realize that you’re paying attention. And when someone knows that their “authority figure” or “mentor” is paying attention to what they’re doing, then they start to feel your expectations for them. It’s a temporary boost in ambition.

Sometimes if others can’t motivate themselves, simple validation or recognition can provide that temporary motivation until they can provide it for themselves.

A little validation or recognition also helps those you have signed up feel included and part of the team. When I joined my first network marketing company, even though I wouldn’t admit it, I wanted to feel like I was contributing to my teams success. I wanted to be recognized as a leader. And I don’t care who you are or what you say, everyone wants a little recognition. Whether it’s from their family or while standing on stage in front of their entire company. To be recognized translates into getting results.

A little validation can also increase your upselling income.

If you’re part of an opportunity that has an inexpensive base product connected to more expensive products your team can upgrade to, then a little validation can increase your upselling income as well. As the leader on your team, you can’t expect anyone you sign up to do something that you have not done yourself. So naturally, you’ll want to purchase every single product you can. You do this to show your leadership, and your team knows this. They know that you’re playing “All Out” in your business. So from this imaginary, yet realistic platform you’re standing on, when you recognize someone on your team, they’ll have a desire to follow your example. They’ll step up their game in order to be included in the inner circle of people that are also playing “All Out.” Thus, more upsells.

In conclusion, take the time to recognize the people on your team who deserve recognition. Even if it’s something extremely minute, simply mentioning their name on a public platform can mean the world of difference to them. Heck, from my experience, you don’t even have to call them by name. When you’re thinking about a specific person, the right words will come out and sometimes they’ll just know that you’re talking about them.

A little validation goes along way when building a team of leaders who recognize and celebrate each others wins. Make it a habit in your business and you’ll see a huge difference in duplication and higher product sales.

When All Else Fails, Just Cry! https://www.createfinancialwealth.com/when-all-else-fails-just-cry/ Mon, 24 Sep 2012 19:08:24 +0000 http://www.createfinancialwealth.com/?p=4453 When all else fails, just cry.If you’re having trouble recruiting others into your business, when all else fails, just cry. Let me explain why.

In my last post I told a story of my wife’s recent recruitment into a home based business. But in case you weren’t able to read it, I’ll tell you the story again.

But before I tell you the story, I want you to know that my wife had no intention whatsoever in joining the opportunity she is now part of. The only thing she wanted was to get her product for free. And the deal was, if you can get three others to buy the same package you want, you can get yours for free.

That was her plan.

So, she planned the home party and invited a handful of her friends to check out the product with her. Several women were interested because the product is related to the health and wellness industry and helps you to lose weight. So naturally, women come flocking, right? I know, if you’re a woman and you’re reading this, you probably just called me a jerk.

Anyway, most of her friends loved it. They were sold before they even finished the presentation. However, the DVD part of the presentation came and on that DVD presentation were details about the actual opportunity. So my wife looks around and notices that nobody in the room was paying attention during that part. So, she asks the woman who was presenting the product to skip the opportunity part. So she did.

The aftermath of the party resulted in five or six people buying a larger package than the one my wife actually wanted. Free product for Amy. Woohoo!

Then, the current distributor starts telling Amy how amazing that was and that she had never signed up that many people at once. Ever! She then asks her to become a distributor, but Amy declined. She just wanted her free product, and she got it.

The current distributor leaves but then calls her back later on. She starts telling her of the benefits of being a distributor and how amazing she would do, yet, Amy was still not in. Then, it started. The distributor broke down in tears. She needed just one more sale to become a rising star and in addition, her husband works more in one week than most do in two, yet, they barely make ends meet.

So, naturally, Amy starts to take things a bit more seriously, because this lady is her friend.

The result……Amy is now a distributor. And her friend is a rising star!

So, the lesson here is a valuable one that may not work all of the time, but it will work. When all else fails, just cry!

The second lesson here is, if you can create interest in the product, you will naturally get more people in your downline.
